Kerala Gold Price On March 12: Gold, Silver Prices Ease Marginally In Market Today

Gold and silver prices in Kerala recorded a marginal decline on Thursday, March 12, reflecting minor fluctuations in the international bullion market.

According to the latest update at 11:15 AM (IST) on Bullions website, both precious metals saw a small drop compared to the previous day's rates.

The price of 24-karat gold, considered the purest form of gold available in the market, is currently priced at ₹16,234 per gram in Kerala. For bulk purchases, the rate stands at ₹1,62,340 for 10 grams, ₹16,23,400 for 100 grams, and ₹1,62,34,000 per kilogram. Meanwhile, the price for one ounce of 24-karat gold is ₹4,60,226, while a traditional tola (11.66 grams) costs ₹1,89,350, the data said.

Compared to Wednesday's price of ₹1,62,810 per 10 grams, the current rate reflects a 0.29 percent decline in the price of 24-karat gold.

Similarly, 22-karat gold, the most commonly used variant for jewellery in India due to its durability and purity balance, is priced at ₹14,881 per gram in Kerala. The price for 10 grams stands at ₹1,48,812, while 100 grams costs ₹14,88,117. On a kilogram basis, the rate is ₹1,48,81,167, with one ounce priced at ₹4,21,874 and one tola costing ₹1,73,571.

Other gold purity levels have also been listed in the state's bullion market. 20-karat gold is priced at ₹13,528 per gram, while 18-karat gold stands at ₹12,176 per gram, often used in designer jewellery and diamond-studded ornaments. Lower purity categories such as 16-karat gold are selling at ₹10,823 per gram, while 14-karat gold is priced at ₹9,470 per gram. The prices continue to drop gradually with purity, with 12-karat gold costing ₹8,117 per gram and 10-karat gold at ₹6,764 per gram.

Silver prices in Kerala also witnessed a slight decrease on Thursday. Silver 999 fine, the purest silver category commonly used in bullion trading, is currently priced at ₹269 per gram. The price for 10 grams is ₹2,692, while 100 grams costs ₹26,919. On a kilogram scale, the price stands at ₹2,69,190, while an ounce of silver costs ₹7,631 and a tola is priced at ₹3,140.

Compared with the previous day's rate of ₹2,69,900 per kilogram, silver has registered a 0.26 percent drop.

Other silver categories are also trading slightly lower. 925 sterling silver is priced at ₹249 per gram, while 900 coin silver stands at ₹242 per gram. Meanwhile, 800 German silver, which is widely used in decorative items and utensils, is priced at ₹215 per gram.

Market experts attribute the minor decline in prices to fluctuations in global bullion rates and currency movements. Jewellers in Kerala say that despite the small dip, demand remains steady, especially as buyers continue to monitor price movements closely before making purchases.
