AirAsia is all set to introduce direct flights between Karipur to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

Kozhikode Airport, also referred to as Calicut International Airport or Karipur Airport, is a prominent international gateway for the city of Kozhikode (Calicut), nestled in the scenic landscapes of Kerala, India. Located in Karipur within the Malappuram district, this airport serves as a vital link connecting Kerala to the rest of the world.

Flight Start Date

AirAsia has decided to start operations between Calicut and Kuala Lumpur from August 2.

Flight Timings

The flight is scheduled to leave Kuala Lumpur late on August 1 and land in Karipur at 11:25 am. The return trip from Karipur will depart at 12:10 am on the same day, reaching Kuala Lumpur at 7:00 am. Departures from Karipur are scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while return services from Kuala Lumpur are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Ticket Price

The price for a one-way trip from Kuala Lumpur to Karipur stands at Rs 5,481, while a return ticket is priced at Rs 5,982, mirroring rates from Kochi. Booking agencies currently provide discounts on these fares.

The Malaysia-based airline is keen to launch services to Bangkok and Colombo.

The introduction of these flight services will improve connectivity to destinations further east, including Singapore, the Philippines, and Australia, as well as countries like China, Japan, and Vietnam. This expansion will be beneficial for a wide range of travellers, including tourists, students, and business travellers.
