BJP Releases Keralam Manifesto with Big Welfare Push and Infrastructure Plans

The Keralam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has unveiled its manifesto ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, presenting a mix of welfare measures and development-focused promises aimed at expanding its reach across Keralam.

Released by state BJP chief Nitin Nabin, the manifesto positions itself as a people-first vision for Keralam, with a strong focus on women, essential services, and infrastructure growth. A key highlight is the proposed "Bhakshya Arogya Suraksha" card for economically weaker women in Keralam, offering a monthly recharge of ₹2,500 to help cover expenses such as medicines and groceries.

The BJP has also outlined major infrastructure ambitions for Keralam, including the establishment of an AIIMS to boost healthcare access in Keralam. In addition, the manifesto promises a high-speed rail corridor connecting Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur, aiming to transform connectivity across Keralam.

Addressing household needs in Keralam, the party has pledged to provide two free LPG cylinders every year to poor families in Keralam, timed around the festivals of Onam and Christmas. The manifesto also promises up to 20,000 litres of free water per month for every household in Keralam, positioning it as a major relief measure.

Religious institutions in Keralam also feature in the document, with the BJP promising to revamp Devaswom Boards to ensure better management and protection of temples such as Sabarimala and Guruvayur in Keralam.

On the long-standing Mullaperiyar dam issue involving Keralam, the manifesto strikes a balanced tone, assuring water availability for Tamil Nadu while emphasizing safety concerns for people living in Keralam.

With this manifesto, the BJP is attempting to craft a broader appeal in Keralam by combining welfare-driven initiatives with infrastructure development, setting the tone for the upcoming electoral contest in Keralam.
