BJP in Kerala gets boost as 500 new members join party
According to an Indian Express report, out of 500 people, 350 belonged to CPI(M) and others were from Congress and Janathipathya Samrakshan Samithi.
Some of them were accorded with the BJP membership while others will be inducted into local level party events.
However, the CPI(M) district secretary had a different version as he said that his aprty has not lost any cadre to the BJP.
Kerala is the state where the BJP is yet to open its account, So, before the 2016 assembly elections in the state, the party has already started gearing up.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), BJP's ideologue is said to have significance presence in Kerala.
BJP president Amit Shah is also expected to visit Kerala on September 1.
Kerala population has reportedly 55% Hindus, 26% Muslims and 18% Christians.
