Is Your Google Chrome Browser Safe? CERT-in Issues Warning About High Severity Vulnerabilities
The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in) is alerting users about critical vulnerabilities discovered in the Google Chrome browser, rated as "high severity."
These vulnerabilities, identified in versions before 122.0.6261.57/58 for Windows and 122.0.6261.57 for Linux and Mac, pose risks such as unauthorized access to sensitive data and execution of arbitrary code on affected systems, reported Times Of India.

CERT-in Issues Warning About High Severity Vulnerabilities
According to CERT-in, the vulnerabilities stem from various issues including inadequate implementation of the Site Isolation and Content Security Policy, navigation flaws, insufficient policy enforcement in downloads, out-of-bounds memory access in Blink, use-after-free in Mojo, and accessibility issues.
Remote attackers could potentially exploit these vulnerabilities by enticing victims to visit specially crafted websites, highlighting the urgency for users to install security updates promptly. CERT-in advises users to upgrade their browsers as soon as manufacturers release security patches, as reported by Times Of India.
To update Google Chrome, users can follow these steps:
1. Open Google Chrome on your desktop.
2. Click the three vertical dots in the upper-right corner to access the menu.
3. Select "Help" from the drop-down menu.
4. Choose 'About Google Chrome.'
5. Chrome will automatically initiate the update process and check for available updates.
6. After the update is complete, click 'Relaunch' to apply the changes.
Users can also opt to manually upgrade their browsers to ensure they are protected against these vulnerabilities.
