Surat hosts three-day 'gems and jewellery expo' from today

is hosting India's first three-day 'Gems and

Machinery Expo' (IGJME) from December 13, Friday to December 15, Sunday.

According to a TOI report, the expo is aimed to provide an indepth knowledge about the hi-tech machinery and equipments used in the diamond cutting, polishing and jewellery making.

The entire expo event has been organised by the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) in an affiliation with Surat Diamond Association (SDA).

During the three-day expo, leading international and domestic manufacturers and suppliers of machinery, technology, allied products and services such as packaging, IT and software will participate in the event.

SDA President Dinesh Navadia said, "The expo will also focus on synthetic diamond identification techniques and technical sessions for the diamantaires".
