This is no Kargil-like situation, says Army Chief General Bikram Singh

"There is no Kargil-like situation in Keran sector of Kashmir. No village has been occupied by terrorists. We will get them out soon. It is a matter of time," General Bikram Singh said.
The first encounter took place on September 24
CNN IBN reported that the Indian forces have been battling around 30 to 40 terrorists who infiltrated the Keran region more than 10 days ago. The Army has killed nearly 15 infiltrators so far but none of the bodies have been recovered.
Not so astonishingly, Pakistan is denying a hand in this infiltration despite strong evidences. The Indian Army has even called in additional forces for the operation as the terrorists have been hold up in a village on the Indian side of the LoC for 10 days.
The operation is taking place in the high altitude, thickly forested Shala Bhata area, which has been cordoned off. Even the reporters are not allowed inside the marked area.
The first encounter took place on September 24 in which five Indian soldiers were wounded. Sources have told that the intruders are standing on their ground and are firing along a front of 4 to 5 kms.
