Srinagar: Bus collides with truck; 5 dead, 4 injured

Srinagar, Jan 12: Five people were killed while four were injured in a road mishap in the north of Kashmir valley on Monday.

A mini-passenger carrier, which was on way from Kupwara district to region's capital, Srinagar, collided with a mini-truck, resulting in on-the-spot death of five commuters.The mishap took place on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway near Haigam-Pattan this morning. Three commuters were seriously injured and were shifted to hospital.

Among those killed were two women, Naza Begum and Sara, the official said. All those were killed in the mishap are from Kupwor. One of the dead is a 30-year-old man, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, he said.
