Landslide: 21 families evacuated to safer places in Valley

"21 families were shifted to safe places, including government quarters and school buildings, in Baramulla district during an evacuation conducted under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner," an official spokesman said here today.
He said the Deputy Commissioner visited Ladi Angan, Banali Boniyar, Bandi and Jal Sheeri areas of Uri in the district yesterday and took stock of the evacuation of the people in these landslide hit areas.
The spokesman said Deputy Commissioner Farooq Ahmad Lone directed the concerned officers to provide all assistance to the affected families and to keep close watch on the situation in these areas.
