J&K acid attack case: IG Kashmir reviews investigation

Srinagar, Dec 16: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Sh. A G Mir on Tuesday chaired a high level meeting of senior officers to review the investigation into the case FIR No. 136/2014 regarding the incident of acid throwing in the jurisdiction of police station Soura.

The meeting was attended by DIG CKR, SSP Srinagar, SP Hazratbal and members of Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the case. Police have got several leads and investigators are working round the clock to work out the case in as soon as possible.

The IGP directed SIT that different teams which have fanned out in all directions should track down guilty at an earliest. The IGP sought a daily briefing from the investigators with regard to the progress and developments of the case.

He emphasized that besides a professional requirement to nab the culprits, it's a challenge to our moral consciousness to eradicate this menace from our society.

It is pertinent to mention that unknown attackers threw acid on a girl near Law College Tawheedabad, Nowshera on 11th December.
