J&K: Tourists rejoice after snowfall in Gulmarg, Udhampur
Srinagar, Jan 14: Gulmarg on Wednesday was covered in a blanket of snow and tourists were surprised to see that their trip had finally paid off.
After the devasting floods last year, tourism had taken a hit in Jammu and Kashmir but on Wednesday the snowfall brought in hopes of more tourists flocking the region.


Many tourists were delighted to witness the snowfall as some of them were eagerly waiting to experience skiing on the slopes.
The snowfall did not stop pilgrims who were at Vaishnodevi Shrine. Even Udhampur recorded a temperature of minus 5 degrees and witnessed heavy snowfall. Few roads had to be closed for the traffic due to the snowfall.
