Srinagar, Dec 16: National Conference President and J&K Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Tuesday expressed astonishment over the Congress leadership for making Late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah subject matter of their campaign when he is no more in this world as also attacking Dr. Farooq Abdullah who is recovering from life threatening ailment in a health institution outside the Country.

"I am surprised to observe that Congress leadership can stoop so low to target Late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and Dr. Farooq Abdullah when both of these are not anywhere in the election race. Omar Abdullah was addressing huge election rallies at Darhal and Kalakote Assembly Constituencies organized in favour of National Conference Candidates Ch. Liyaqat Ali and Thakur Rachpal Singh.

Omar Abdullah said that the attitude of Congress and its campaigning in the current Assembly Election clearly indicate that this party has no regard for the stalwarts who have left the world, and for vote bank politics Congress can go to the extend of targeting late personalities. He said Congress has no care for people or the welfare of the State but its leadership is only concerned in sticking to the power by somersaulting from one extent to another. He said their statements in this regard lucidly unveil the Congress Party's thirst for power.

The Working President National Conference said that National Conference never believes in mud throwing and indulging in personal attacks but takes its opponent to task for their failures on account of their performance and commissions and omissions to deliver as political parties.

Omar Abdullah said that people of Jammu and Kashmir are wiser enough to reject the propaganda and uncalled for criticism of his government launched by Congress which has remained part of the government for last about six years.

Omar Abdullah asked Ghulam Nabi Azad to recollect the communal hatred and regional frenzy created by him as the Chief Minister of the State in 2008 and leaving the State in a situation of uncertainty and confusion. He said that it was NC government which restored the tranquility and re-united people of Jammu and Kashmir which were put at draggers drawn by Ghulam Nabi Azad in 2008. He said Congress at present are finding all faults in National Conference but forgets the fact that National Conference never asked it to support NC in the formation of government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Omar Abdullah said that Congress is also circulating false propaganda that National Conference led government did not implement Food Act in the State. "Had I implemented this Act in Jammu and Kashmir, I would have deprived 25 lakh people from getting ration", he said elaborating that the Central Food Act deprives 25 lakh people of Jammu and Kashmir from receiving the ration. He said it was for this fact that he did not implement the Food Act in the State.

The Working President National Conference taking a dig on PDP said that the boost-fullness of PDP has been punctured by the reports that its Paton Mufti Mohammad Sayed is in great trouble in the Assembly Constituency in Anantnag and is likely to lose the seat. He said that people are well aware of the hollow promises of PDP on employment and development and said that during the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayed PDP instead of providing two jobs to each household provided political rehabilitation to Mufti Mohammad Sayed and his daughter.

The Working President National Conference said that NC represents aspirations of the people of all the regions and sub-regions of the State and upholds communal amity, brotherhood and regional solidarity of Jammu and Kashmir. "We do not divide people in the name of region, religion, creed, cast or colour but inclusiveness and equitable development irrespective of any consideration is the benchmark of political agenda of National Conference", he said and asked the people to strengthen Kashmiriyat by wholeheartedly supporting and voting in favour of National Conference.
