Vinesh Phogat Disqualification: Wrestler's Family Alleges Conspiracy By Federation
Wednesday morning came with a big shocker for Indian wrestling fans as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced disqualification of Vinesh Phogat in the 50kg event. Vinesh defeated Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in a dominating manner by 5-0 in the semi-final.
According to the reports, Olympic authorities found Vinesh Phogat overweight, following which she has been disqualified from the games. Now, her semi-final opponent Lopez will play for the Gold and there will be no match for the bronze medal.

Reacting to the big development, Vinesh Phogat's family alleged that it is a conspiracy done by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), coaches, and support staff.
For the unversed, WFI is being headed by a close aide of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, against whom Vinesh Phogat had staged a protest over the sexual harassment of players.
