WTC Final 2025: Check ICC Schedule For World Test Championship Final
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the dates for the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) final. This highly anticipated match will take place at Lord's Stadium in England from June 11 to June 15, with June 16 reserved as a backup day if needed.
New Zealand clinched the first WTC title by defeating India by eight wickets. The second edition saw Australia triumph over India by 209 runs at The Oval in London. These finals have set high expectations for the upcoming event.

ICC Announces WTC Final Dates
On September 3, ICC confirmed that the top two teams on the WTC points table would face off at Lord's, often referred to as the 'home of cricket.' This announcement has generated significant excitement among cricket fans worldwide.
Geoff Allardice, ICC CEO, expressed his enthusiasm about the event. "The ICC World Test Championship Final has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in the cricketing calendar and we are pleased to announce the dates for the 2025 edition," he stated.
High Demand for Tickets
Allardice also urged fans to register early for tickets due to expected high demand. "It's a testament to the enduring appeal of Test cricket, which continues to captivate fans around the world. Tickets will be in high demand so I would encourage fans to register their interest now to ensure they are in with a chance of attending the Ultimate Test next year," he added.
The inaugural WTC final was initially planned for Lord's in 2021 but was moved to Southampton's Ageas Bowl due to Covid-19 restrictions. This time, however, Lord's will finally host this prestigious event.
India and Australia Leading Contenders
Currently, India and Australia are leading contenders for reaching the final again. India tops the WTC table with six wins out of nine matches and a points percentage of 68.52%. Australia follows closely with eight wins from twelve matches and a points percentage of 62.50%.
This announcement sets the stage for another thrilling contest between cricketing giants at one of the sport's most iconic venues. Fans can look forward to an exciting showdown next year.
The ICC's decision to host the final at Lord's underscores its commitment to celebrating Test cricket at historic venues. With both teams performing exceptionally well, anticipation is building for what promises to be an unforgettable match.
The World Test Championship has quickly become a highlight in international cricket, drawing attention from fans globally. As preparations begin, all eyes will be on Lord's come June 2025.
