For those unfamiliar, she holds the position of Chief Executive Officer for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise. Her participation in the auction has brought an added touch of elegance to the event.

Born and brought up in Chennai, she is the daughter of media baron Kalanithi Maran, the founder of the 'Sun Network,' and Kaveri Maran. Her family's impact goes beyond business, as her grandfather, Murasoli Maran, was a former Union Minister of Commerce, and her uncle, Dayanidhi Maran, was also a Union Minister in the previous UPA government.
More importantly, she is a close relative of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and a cousin of Sports Minister and film producer Udhayanidhi Stalin.
The Maran family's illustrious legacy, marked by a fusion of business acumen and political prominence, has undeniably shaped Kavya's path. Committed to her education, Kavya earned a commerce degree from Stella Maris College in Chennai and pursued an MBA at the Warwick Business School in the UK.
Since 2018, Kavya has been the CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise.
Apart from handling Sunrisers Hyderabad, she has also been looking after operations in Sun Network, Sun Music and FM channels. Her diverse engagement in the entertainment industry came to the forefront when she participated in the music launch of the Rajnikanth-starrer 'Jailer', produced by Sun Pictures.
