The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is all set to announce their captain for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). At the IPL 2025 mega auction held in Saudi Arabia's Jeddah, world-class players were divided into 10 franchise teams. The much-anticipated franchise cricket league will be held in March-April 2025, and preparations are in full swing.

The Bangalore team (RCB), which stunned everyone by qualifying for the Playoffs, released their skipper Faf Du Plessis, and other key players including Glen Maxwell this time. RCB management retained Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar, and focused more on acquiring young Indian talent than depending on foreign players in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Some cricket experts predicted that former captain Virat Kohli might be assigned the duties once again for the captain's role, but social media speculations suggest that RCB has decided to bet on a new face.

Unconfirmed reports said Krunal Pandya may lead Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025. Krunal Pandya is a key all-rounder, who has been acquired for a whopping amount of 5.75 crores.

Krunal Pandya's brother Hardik Pandya leads Mumbai Indian (MI), and now, his brother is likely to perform similar duties for the Bengaluru team. Krunal led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in six matches in the IPL 2023 edition and clinched 3 victories.

However, the official announcement is yet to be made by the team management.

Earlier, it was reported that RCB may rope in Rishabh Pant or KL Rahul for the skipper's role, but they were picked by Lucknow Supper Giants and Delhi Capitals at IPL 2025 mega auction.
