Jasprit Bumrah To Play 2nd Test Vs England: India's Assistant Coach Ryan Ten Doeschate
India's cricket team is gearing up for the second Test against England, and there's exciting news. Assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah is fit and available for selection. However, the final decision on his participation in the Edgbaston Test, starting 2 July, remains pending.
Bumrah's availability is a significant boost for India, especially after their pace attack struggled in the first match. The team management is considering various factors such as conditions and workload before making a decision. "He's available for the game, obviously," said ten Doeschate.

Bumrah's Fitness and Workload Management
Ten Doeschate emphasised that Bumrah is fully fit with no injury concerns. The focus is on managing his workload throughout the series. "With Bumrah, he is ready to play. It's how we manage these four Tests," he explained.
The assistant coach also mentioned that Bumrah has been actively participating in training sessions. Videos of him bowling at full speed have circulated online, sparking speculation about his return to the playing XI.
Strategic Decisions Ahead
India trails 0-1 in the series, and Bumrah's inclusion could be pivotal in levelling the score. However, ten Doeschate highlighted the need for strategic planning over the series' duration. "It is tempting, but we also feel we can go 1-1 or keep the score at 1-0 without Jasprit," he noted.
The team aims to balance immediate needs with long-term strategy. "You've got to decide when you're going to play your strongest suit," added ten Doeschate.
Potential Record for Bumrah
If selected and successful at Edgbaston, Bumrah could achieve a milestone by equalling Wasim Akram's record of 11 five-wicket hauls in SENA countries. Currently, Bumrah has 10 such hauls across South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia.
The decision on Bumrah's participation will be made shortly before the match begins. As ten Doeschate stated, "We'll work out in the next 24 hours how we're going to manage Jasprit."
