Kishan's recent cricket journey includes playing for India A in Australia, participating in the Irani Cup, and competing in the Ranji Trophy. He returned to first-class cricket with India C in the Duleep Trophy after a break since December 2022.
In 2016, Kishan began his IPL career with Gujarat Lions, a team that no longer exists. He later joined Mumbai Indians in 2018 and played there until last season before being released into the auction pool. Over his IPL tenure, he has scored 2,644 runs at a strike rate of 135.87.

IPL Journey and Achievements
Kishan's standout season was IPL 2020 when he scored 516 runs with a strike rate of 145.76. One memorable performance was his explosive 99 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a Super Over loss. In the 2022 mega auction, Mumbai Indians re-signed him for an impressive Rs. 15.25 crore.
During this period, Kishan lost his BCCI central contract alongside Shreyas Iyer. The BCCI stressed that "all athletes must prioritize domestic cricket when not representing the national team." This decision highlights the importance placed on domestic commitments by the board.
