IPL Auction 2025: KL Rahul Sold To Delhi Capitals For Rs 14 Crores, Lucknow Did Not Even Bid For Him
Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul has been sold to the Delhi Capitals for Rs 14 crores in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) auction going on in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. KL Rahul, ex-Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain, had a conflict with LSG boss Sanjiv Goenka during a match in the last edition, after which, the cricketer announced to part ways with LSG.
Notably, the Lucknow Super Giants did not retain their captain and no bid was placed for him for IPL 2025 during the auction.
Cricket experts have predicted that DC bosses could give reigns of the ream in the hands of KL Rahul after the departure of Rishabh Pant.

Sanjeev Goenka was caught on camera hauling at then LSG captain KL Rahul after LSG lost a match to SRH at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Rahul admitted that whatever happened was not good.
In a conversation with StarSports, KL Rahul Gandhi: "Whatever happened on the field after the game wasn't the nicest thing to be part of or something that anyone wants to see on the cricket field. So yeah, I think it did affect the entire group".
"I wanted to start fresh, I wanted to explore my options and I wanted to go and play where I could find some freedom, where the team atmosphere could be something lighter. Sometimes you need to move away and find something good for yourself," KL Rahul said.
On the other side, Sanjeev Goenka told media: "It was a process that Zaheer Khan, Justin Langer and the analyst and the CEO engaged in for a while and we all had a joint discussion. And that discussion wasn't too long, I mean we had a simple mindset to go in with the players who have a mindset to win, who put the team before their personal goals and personal aspirations. We wanted to retain as much of our core as we could within the available purse".
This time Lucknow Super Giants retained five players namely Nicholas Pooran (INR 21 Crore), Ravi Bishnoi (INR 11 Crore), Mayank Yadav (INR 11 Crore), Mohsin Khan (INR 4 Crore) and Ayush Badoni (INR 4 Crore).
