The Australian all-rounder, who became the most expensive overseas buy in IPL history at ₹25.20 crore, is now making headlines for the wrong reasons just days before IPL 2026. Struggling for consistency with the bat, Green also appeared to let frustration spill over during a recent media interaction in Australia.

The incident, reported by The Age and detailed by journalist Tom Decent, took place after a Sheffield Shield match between Western Australia and New South Wales in Sydney.

Green began the interview calmly, speaking about his recent century and his team's position in the game. But when asked about his lean patch leading into that knock, his response was abrupt: "I'm not answering that question. Next question."

Moments later, the interaction ended altogether. As the reporter walked away, Green allegedly muttered "waste of time" - a comment that underscored his visible irritation.

Western Australia assistant coach Beau Casson later stepped in to apologise, attempting to ease the situation.
