Hyderabad Weather Update: IMD Issues Yellow Alert As Thunderstorms Likely Across Telangana Till April 7

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has issued a yellow alert across all districts of Telangana as the state is expected to witness thunderstorms over the next five days. The alert comes at a time when temperatures have already begun climbing sharply in several parts of the state, with some districts crossing the 40 degrees Celsius mark.

Thunderstorm Warning Issued Across All Telangana Districts

According to IMD Hyderabad, the yellow alert has been issued for every district in Telangana in view of likely thunderstorm activity between April 3 and April 7. The weather office has also warned that the spell may be accompanied by lightning and squalls during this period.

With unstable weather conditions expected across the state, residents have been advised to remain cautious and keep track of local forecasts before stepping out, especially during afternoon and evening hours when storm activity may intensify.

Temperatures Cross 40°C In Parts Of Telangana

Even as rain and thunderstorm activity is expected in the coming days, Telangana has continued to experience intense heat. Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) shows that the mercury has already crossed 40 degrees Celsius in parts of the state.

The highest maximum temperature recorded on Thursday, April 2, was 40.5 degrees Celsius in Adilabad district.

In Hyderabad too, temperatures remained elevated. The highest temperature in the city touched 38 degrees Celsius, with Himayatnagar and Shaikpet recording the warmest conditions.

Hyderabad Likely To See Rain, Gusty Winds On April 6

For Hyderabad, IMD has forecast hazy conditions until April 7, with early morning haze expected across all major zones of the city.

The weather department said hazy weather is likely in Charminar, Khairathabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad and Serilingampally during the morning hours over the next few days.

In addition to the haze, rain or thunderstorms along with gusty winds are expected in Hyderabad on April 6, according to the forecast issued by IMD.

Residents Advised To Plan Travel Carefully

With thunderstorm activity predicted in all districts of Telangana, people have been advised to plan their travel and outdoor movement carefully over the next few days.

The combination of lightning, squalls and gusty winds could affect commuting conditions in both urban and rural areas, particularly during sudden weather changes. Authorities are urging residents to stay updated with official weather advisories as conditions evolve through April 7.
