Major Step Towards Making Lalitpur Pharma Park a Global Export Hub

In a significant initiative to position Uttar Pradesh as a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing hub in India, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The MoU was formally executed by Mr. Vijay Kiran Anand, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, UPSIDA, and Mr. Gaurav Dayal, IAS, Chairman, JNPA. The objective of this collaboration is to seamlessly connect industrial regions of North India with global markets. This strategic partnership is expected to serve as a milestone in transforming the upcoming Lalitpur Pharma Park into a Global Export Hub, by linking it directly with international maritime trade routes.

Speaking on the transformative potential of the agreement, Mr. Vijay Kiran Anand, IAS, CEO of Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority, stated:

By joining hands with the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, we are unlocking world-class logistics for our investors. The integration of the Dedicated Freight Corridors will enable our pharmaceutical manufacturers to achieve unprecedented speed-to-market, significantly enhancing their competitiveness on the global stage."

Under this agreement, the Dadri-Khurja rail link will be strategically leveraged to connect the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) and the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC). This advanced multimodal rail network will enable the efficient, secure, and cost-effective transportation of high-value pharmaceutical products manufactured in Lalitpur to JNPA-India's largest container port.

Providing seamless logistics support for the import of raw materials and export of finished pharmaceutical products for units in the Lalitpur Pharma cluster.

This partnership between Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority marks a concrete step towards integrating Uttar Pradesh's industrial development with national logistics infrastructure. It will further strengthen the state's Ease of Doing Business ecosystem and enhance its attractiveness as an investment destination.

The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority serves as the nodal agency for industrial infrastructure development in the state and continues to drive economic growth through the development of specialized industrial clusters.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority is India's premier container port, connected to over 200 international ports and supported by extensive rail and road networks.

The Lalitpur Pharma Park, strategically located along a key industrial corridor, will benefit significantly from its integration with the WDFC and EDFC via the Dadri-Khurja link, enabling seamless connectivity to global shipping routes.
