Gujarat Titan's young star Sai Sudharsan entered T20 cricket history after becoming the fastest batter to reach 3000 runs, achieving the mark in just 78 innings. The Gujarat Titans opener overtook Shaun Marsh’s previous record during GT’s IPL 2026 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, where Sudharsan also produced an unbeaten half-century.

The left-hander’s 53 not out from 28 balls came during Gujarat Titans’ chase of 248, which ended 29 runs short. Despite the defeat, Sudharsan’s effort kept GT in the contest deep into the innings, while Kolkata Knight Riders extended their IPL 2026 campaign with the win.

Later, in the 17th over, Sudharsan returned once Shubman Gill fell for 85. Sudharsan quickly found rhythm, struck several boundaries, reached his fifty from 27 balls, and closed on 53 not out.
