IPL's top-performing Gujarat Titans faced a major setback on Saturday after its key player Glenn Phillips returned to New Zealand following an injury.
In a statement, the Gujarat Titans said, Glenn Phillips pulled his growing and got injured on April 6 during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has returned to New Zealand for better and fast recovery.

During a crucial moment in the match, Phillips was chasing a ball hit by Ishan Kishan when he injured himself. Positioned at point, his commitment to stopping the ball saw him stretch too far, causing him to strain his groin and collapse on the field in evident distress. This incident marked a disappointing turn for Phillips, who had to be helped off the field by his teammates, highlighting the intensity and unpredictability of the sport.
The loss of Phillips is a significant setback for the Gujarat Titans, marking him as the second player to leave the squad this season. Prior to Phillips's departure, Kagiso Rabada, a fast bowler from South Africa, also left the team due to personal reasons.
