IPL 2025 Finals: Know Who Won Orange Cap And Purple Cap This Season
The IPL 2025 has concluded with a new champion, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), as they marked a narrow six-run victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi stadium. This season showcased remarkable performances from both batters and bowlers. The Orange Cap and Purple Cap, awarded to the top batter and bowler , respectively, highlighted these achievements. Let's delve into the winners of these prestigious awards and the standout performers in both categories.
RCB emerged victorious in the IPL 2025 final, securing the championship for that year. Krunal Pandya was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance in the final. However, two other significant accolades were also awarded: the Orange Cap for batting excellence and the Purple Cap for bowling prowess.

Orange Cap Winner: Sai Sudharsan
The Orange Cap is a coveted award given to the highest run-scorer in an IPL season. Introduced in 2008, it recognises consistency, power-hitting, and match-winning performances. In 2025, Sai Sudharsan from Gujarat Titans claimed this honour by amassing 759 runs across 15 matches. His highest score was an unbeaten 108*, complemented by six fifties, 88 fours, and 21 sixes.
Sai Sudharsan's impressive strike rate of 156.17 played a crucial role in his team's success. He received ₹10 lakh as prize money for his achievement. Other top contenders included Surya Kumar Yadav with 717 runs, Shubman Gill with 650 runs, Mitchell Marsh with 627 runs, and Virat Kohli with 657 runs.
Purple Cap Winner: Prasidh Krishna
In addition to batting feats, bowling performances are celebrated through the Purple Cap award. This accolade goes to the player who takes the most wickets during an IPL season. Prasidh Krishna from Gujarat Titans emerged as the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2025 with 25 wickets in 15 matches.
Prasidh Krishna's best bowling figures were an impressive 4/41 against Delhi Capitals. His economy rate stood at 8.27, while his strike rate was an efficient 14.16 balls per wicket. Like Sai Sudharsan, he also received ₹10 lakh as prize money for his exceptional performance.
Other notable bowlers included Noor Ahmad with 24 wickets, Trent Boult with 22 wickets, Josh Hazlewood also with 22 wickets but in fewer matches than Boult, and Sai Kishore with 19 wickets.
