IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals Co-Owner Reacts To Rishabh Pant's Departure; Calls Cricketer 'Family'
Rishabh Pant's departure from Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction has stirred emotions. Pant, who joined the team in 2016, was picked up by Lucknow Super Giants after a competitive bidding in Jeddah. The move marks a significant change for both Pant and the Capitals.

In his farewell message, Pant reminisced about his growth with the team over nine years. "Goodbyes are never easy. The journey with Delhi Capitals has been nothing short of amazing," he wrote, acknowledging both on-field thrills and off-field moments that contributed to his personal development.
Record-Breaking Auction
Pant's move to Lucknow Super Giants set a new record as he became the most expensive player in an IPL auction, fetching Rs 27 crore. The bidding war involved Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad before LSG secured him with a final bid of Rs 27 crore, surpassing Delhi Capitals' Right to Match attempt.
Jindal wished Pant success in his future endeavours while expressing continued support except when facing Delhi Capitals. "Thank you for everything Rishabh and remember that we will always love you - go well champ, the world is at your feet," Jindal wrote, conveying best wishes from everyone at Delhi Capitals.
A New Chapter Begins
Pant acknowledged the fans' unwavering support during difficult times, particularly referencing the 2023 season he missed due to a car accident. He promised to carry their love forward as he embarks on this new chapter with Lucknow Super Giants.
