IPL 2024 RCB vs RR Eliminator: Sunil Gavaskar Predicts Winner, Says It Is Going To Be A One Sided Match

Former Indian cricketer and commentator Sunil Gavaskar has predicted the winner for tonight's IPL 2024 Eliminator between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The Bengaluru team did nothing less than a miracle by defeating defending champion Chennai Super Kings to qualify for the playoffs. Lauding their great performance, Sunil Gavaskar said it was a collective performance by RCB players that resulted in 6 consecutive victories.

The high-voltage RCB vs RR eliminator match will be played at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi stadium from 7:30 pm onwards and the winner will meet Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2024 Qualifier 2 on Friday, May 24.

Gavaskar lauded Bengaluru for playing excellent cricket. "What RCB has done is nothing short of phenomenal. Firstly, to believe that they can bounce back. That requires something special. You have to say that their leading players Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, their senior players, they are the guys who are most encouraging the other players. Other team members can quickly get into a situation like, 'Oh we have lost everything'. Both of them have played extraordinary cricket," Sunil Gavaskar said on Star Sports.

On the other side, he criticised Rajasthan Royal for totally depended on Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal since Jos Butler's departure. Top-riding Rajasthan Royals have lost back-to-back matches and the kind of cricket they are playing is not up to the mark. They have been out of practice.

Gavaskar said that RR needs to do something extra ordinary tonight, or else it is going to be a cakewalk for RCB. "My fear is it will be another one-sided game, where the RCB will walk all over RR. I will be surprised if that does not happen," he added.

Pat Cummins-led Hyderabad team faced a humiliating defeat in Qualifier 1 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who has booked its place for the IPL 2024 finals, while the contest for the second spot is still on.
