There was some relief in the Indian camp regarding the availability of middle-order batter Rinku Singh ahead of the crucial match.

Rinku had travelled to Uttar Pradesh after his father, who is suffering from liver cancer, was hospitalised and placed on ventilator support. He missed Tuesday's practice session after leaving the team hotel.

India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak confirmed his return during a press interaction, saying, "Rinku's father wasn't well. So he went back. I think he is coming back this evening," indicating the batter would rejoin the squad in Chennai on Wednesday evening.
