India Vs England: Big Update On Delay In Team Announcement, Virat Kohli's Availability For Next 3 Tests

After the Hyderabad and Vizag tests between India and England, all eyes are on the Rajkot test starting from February 15, 2024, where both the teams would look forward to squaring their lead in the five-match test series. Despite a show of excellent cricket skills from players of both sides, fans have only one question on their minds and tongues, when will Virat Kohli return to the field?

Virat Kohli, who is one of the greatest batsmen in the world, missed the first two games citing personal reasons. However, it was expected that the batter would return for the third game and his teammates and fans have been eagerly waiting for him.

According to the reports, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) senior men's team selectors are in continuous talks with Virat Kohli and expect him to rejoin at the earliest. Reports added that this is the reason for the delay in announcement for the team for the next three Tests.

In its earlier press release, the cricket governing body had informed that Virat Kohli, who had joined the team in Hyderabad, had to fly back due to some personal reasons. He took the decision to opt-out after discussing it with skipper Rohit Sharma and team management.

Former cricketer Nassir Hussain told Sky Sports that nothing is confirmed for now. "It's all speculation whether it's the next 2 Test matches or three... they're going to announce their side in the next few hours."

"Virat Kohli is one of the greatest to ever play the game and any series and any side would miss someone of the stature of Kohli," the former English cricketer added.

"First thing's first. The game needs to look after Virat Kohli as well. He's been playing international cricket for more than 15 years now and if he needs a break to be away with family... get some time away from the game, we absolutely wish Virat Kohli all the best. It means we don't get the mouth-watering possibility of an Anderson vs Kohli contest that we've seen over the years, then be it. But Kohli, and his family and his private life has to come first," Hussain further said.
