Ind vs Eng: Kapil Dev Compares Rohit Sharma With Virat Kohli, Says Skipper Is Calm, Doesn't Jump In Air
Right ahead of the much-anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final match between India and England, India's cricketing legend and 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev has lauded skipper Rohit Sharma. Speaking at a cricket analysis show, Kapil Dev compared two ace players, Rohit Sharma (current skipper of the team) and Virat Kohli (former India captain), to say that the captaincy styles of both top players are totally different. Rohit Sharma has been cool, calm and composed even during the big matches. While other players show their aggression and jump in the air even on a small thing.
Sharing his views on Rohit Sharma, Kapil Dev said, India captain never showcased any aggression on the field, which makes him different. He united players like a true leader and led the side from the front.

"He (Rohit) doesn't play like Virat, doesn't jump around like him. But he knows his limitations, and within those limitations, there is no better player than him," Kapil Dev said at the 'ABP Live' event.
Under Rohit's leadership Team India reached the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup final unbeaten and missed out on the winner's trophy by inches. This time again, in the T20 World Cup, the men in blue have maintained their winning streak and have beaten all teams which came in their way. India crushed Ireland, Pakistan, USA, Afghanistan, and Australia in the league and super 8 stages, and today Rohit and boys will face a challenge from England led by Jos Buttler at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
Rohit Sharma is leading the team from the front and is also the highest scorer in the tournament so far. Rohit has 191 runs from 6 matches in his kitty, which he scored at an astonishing strike rate of 159.17.
"Many big players come, they care about their own careers, even do captaincy from that point of view. That's why Rohit has an extra tick (mark) because he keeps the entire team happy," the latter added.
India vs England:
Tonight, Team India will look forward to avenge the 2022 T20 World Cup's semi-final exit against the same opponent. In that match, England completely dominated India in every department of the game. After which, former skipper MS Dhoni bid adieu to the shortest format of the game.
