Harsha Bhogle Says Virat Kohli Always Plays For Team's Benefit; But RCB Fans Are Not Happy, Here's Why

Speaking at the SHRM India Talent Leadership Summit & Expo 2024 in Mumbai, cricket expert Harsha Bhogle said Virat Kohli always plays for the team's benefit. Replying to a question that there are only a few cricketers who play all three formats-Test, ODI, and T20, and are actually good at it, what does it take to be that texturous, Harsha Bhogle said Viral Kohli is an extreme example, he knows the value of his wicket.

"Virat Kohli is a great example. When playing test cricket for India, Virat Kohli knows that he isn't supposed to get out. But when he goes to play for RCB, or any limited over game; beyond a certain point, it might actually be in the interest of the side for him to get out," Harsha Bhogle said.

He explained saying Virat understands that sometimes it is in the team's interest to get out as the next player who will come to bat might hit 20-odd runs off 6 balls.

"If Virat Kohli is playing T20 for RCB or T20I for India, after a certain point of time, it will be actually beneficial for his own team to get him out," Harsha Bhogle said while praising Virat Kohli as the cricketer thinks for his team first and not about his own batting or score.

However, many Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans criticised Harsha Bhogle on social media for his comments saying Virat Kohli is more dangerous in the death overs.

In another tweet, Harsha Bhogle said that his viral video was chopped and he is well versed that Virat is capable of playing across situations. He said he was only highlighting how even the greatest players have to keep adjusting demands and priorities according to the situation of the game.
