Dhoni’s Spiritual Visit To Dewri Temple Near Ranchi Goes Viral - Video
Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni made a spiritual visit to the revered Dewri Mandir near Ranchi along with his family, reaffirming his deep-rooted connection to faith and tradition. The temple, located about 60 kilometers from Ranchi in Diuri village (Tamar), holds significant importance for Dhoni, who has frequented the site over the years-especially before major cricket tournaments.
Dedicated to Goddess Durga, Dewri Mandir is over 700 years old and is famed for its 16-armed idol. One of the temple's unique features is its inclusive ritual practice, where both tribal priests and Brahmins jointly perform the ceremonies. Dhoni's consistent visits have not only highlighted the temple's spiritual significance but have also helped boost its popularity and local tourism.
Ziva Dhoni, MS Dhoni's daughter, accompanied him during his spiritual visit to Dewri Mandir, charming fans with her presence and adorable moments at the temple.

During his latest visit, Dhoni maintained his usual humility. He took part in prayers and rituals, joined in the aarti, and interacted warmly with fans-despite tight security and a large crowd. His simplicity and spiritual devotion continue to inspire his admirers and reinforce his image as someone who has never forgotten his roots.
In a related anecdote, former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan recently recalled his first meeting with Dhoni in 2010, as shared in his newly released book "The One: Cricket, My Life and More." Dhawan described how he felt both nervous and excited upon joining Team India and decided to break the ice with a humorous remark: "I want to play for India, and I want to make you a Bollywood hero!"

Dhoni, known for his calm demeanor and sharp wit, burst into laughter-immediately putting Dhawan at ease. The moment captured the welcoming spirit of the Indian dressing room during that time.
Dhawan also reflected on how, back then, players faced less pressure from social media, making it easier to form genuine bonds and enjoy lighter moments with teammates. Though his debut performance wasn't memorable, the laughter he shared with Dhoni left a lasting impression.
The story serves as a reminder that beyond the pressure of international matches, the camaraderie and light-hearted moments within the team are what make cricket so cherished by fans across the country.
