AUS vs WI: Mitchell Marsh Tests Covid-19 Positive, Will Take The Field Maintaining Social Distancing

After the ODI series, it's time for the T20 competition between Australia and West Indies. Both the teams will play in T20s slated from February 9 to 13, 2024. Kangaroos registered a clean sweep in the three-match ODI series against the visitors and also set a record for finishing and winning a match (3rd ODI) in only 6.5 overs. However, West Indies, the T20 specialists, would eye to bounce back and avenge this time.

Meanwhile, reports suggested that Australia captain Mitchell Marsh has tested positive for COVID-19. However, he would continue to play and lead the side while following strict social-distancing protocols, said Cricket Australia in a statement ahead of the Aus vs WI T20 series.

The cricket governing body added that the Mitchell Marsh will also use a separate dressing room.

In the last few months, Cricket Australia has been rocked by Covid-19. Earlier, during the Test series, Cameron Green tested positive for Covid-19, who also took the field while maintaining social distancing, and now Mitchell Marsh will follow the same.

During the 2nd Test in Brisbane, speedster Josh Hazlewood was humorously seen 'shooing away' Cameron Green, who came close to the players to celebrate after taking a catch.

Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis, and head coach Andrew McDonald were also hit by the virus in recent days.
