Andhra Cricket Association Vs Hanuma Vihari: From Allegations To Responses, Know The Complete Story Here

In the ongoing edition of the Ranji Trophy, Andhra Pradesh faced a humiliating defeat against Madhya Pradesh on Monday. But the heart-rending jolts did not stop here for the state cricketing body. After the match, India cricketer Hanuma Vihari, who is representing his state in the prestigious domestic league, said he was removed from captaincy after an altercation with a teammate, who is son of a prominent politician.

Soon after Hanuma Vihari leveled accusations against Andhra Cricket Association and revealed the reason for his sacking, Prudhvi Raj KN, the cricketer who was engaged in an altercation with the senior cricketer, took it to Instagram to share his side. Prudhvi accused Vihari of abusing him and using foul language.

To put an end to conflict between the cricketers and shed light on the matter, the Andhra Cricket Association came forward with an official statement.

"Addressing the reported issue, it has come to our attention that Mr. Vihari personally verbally abused a specific player during the Bengal Ranji game in front of everyone. The affected player filed an official complaint with ACA," the state cricket association said.

The board added that it has received similar complaints about Hanuma Vihari's bad behavior from other players and support staff.

However, an official inquiry in the case would be conducted, the state cricket governing body further added.

The statement also explained the decision to change the skipper. "In January 2024, following the first Ranji Trophy game, an email from the Chairman of the Senior Selection Committee proposed a new captain due to Vihari's status as an Indian prospect affecting his season-long availability. Vihari, in response, expressed appreciation for the decision, leading to Ricky Bhui being announced as the new captain by the senior selection committee," the board added.

Andhra Cricket Association added that Hanuma Vihari has been seeking a No Objection Certificate to move to other state teams, but reversed his decision.
