South Delhi MCD Election 2022

There are 104 wards in the South Delhi Municipal Corporation. The elections to the 104 wards of the corporation will be held in April 2022. In 2017, the BJP bagged the majority in all the three corporations of North, South and East Delhi. The Election Commission said that the number of voters allowed in each voting station has been set at 1,250 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation was created after the former Municipal Corporation of Delhi was trifurcated in 2012. In January the State Election Commission said that the number of wards reserved for the Scheduled castes in the three corporations would be 20 for NDMC, 15 for SDMC, and 11 for EDMC.
