JMM's Hemant Soren To Take Jharkhand CM's Oath On November 28
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) secured a decisive victory in the recent assembly elections. Hemant Soren, the party's executive president, is poised to take the oath as Chief Minister on November 28. Speaking in Ranchi, Soren confirmed that they have claimed the mandate to form a new government.
The JMM-led coalition achieved a remarkable win by securing 56 out of 81 seats in the assembly. The JMM itself won 34 seats, while its allies Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) secured 16 and four seats respectively. The CPI(ML) Liberation managed to win two seats. Meanwhile, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by BJP, was limited to just 24 seats.

Hemant Soren's Leadership
Hemant Soren will be sworn in as Jharkhand's Chief Minister for the fourth time. He was unanimously chosen as the coalition leader under whom the new government will be formed. This marks another term for Soren, who has been at the forefront of Jharkhand politics for several years.
"On November 28, the oath ceremony of the new government will take place," stated Hemant Soren, confirming his upcoming swearing-in ceremony. He also mentioned that he had resigned from his caretaker role after meeting Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar.
Political Dynamics and Campaigns
The JMM-Congress alliance had previously emerged victorious in 47 seats during the 2019 elections. This time around, their campaign focused on social welfare schemes and alleged conspiracies against them by the BJP-led Centre. In contrast, BJP's campaign targeted what they termed as "corruption" within Soren's administration and issues related to "infiltration from Bangladesh."
Soren is currently out on bail concerning a money-laundering case but remains a central figure in Jharkhand politics. His leadership has been pivotal in steering his party to consecutive victories against formidable opposition.
The upcoming oath-taking ceremony signifies not only a continuation of leadership but also an opportunity for Soren and his coalition to implement their vision for Jharkhand's future amidst ongoing challenges.
