Horse trading case: JMM MLA Sita Soren released from jail

Sita Soren, sister-in-law of Chief Minister Hemant Soren who had been in jail since February 25 after surrendering before a lower court, was granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court on September 11.
Following the order of the high court, court of Special CBI Judge Satyaprakash today ordered Soren's release on furnishing of two bail bonds of Rs 50,000 each.
She was then released from jail late evening. In the case, being investigated by the CBI, several MLAs from different parties were accused of taking bribe to cast votes in favour of Independent candidates.
The 2012 biennial polls were held afresh after the notification was rescinded by Election Commission following seizure of Rs 2.15 crore from a car.
The cash allegedly belonging to the kin of one of the Independent candidates was seized by the police and Income Tax officials at Namkum in Ranchi.
