Jharkhand Floor Test Done, Hemant Soren Returns To ED Custody

The newly formed Government of Jharkhand under the leadership of Chief Minister Champai Soren on Monday proved its mandate and passed the floor test with flying colors. It was an easy task for the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance as 47 members voted in favour of Champai Soren.

While 29 votes from the BJP's fraction were cast against him.

The proceedings of the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha were commenced by a speech by Governor CP Radhakrishnan, followed by the national anthem.

Former Jharkhand CM and Jharkhand Mukti Morch (JMM) chief Hemant Soren, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate last week in relation to a money laundering case, also participated in the floor test to support the Champai Soren government.

Champai Soren Government was supported by 47 MLAs. The JMM's 29, while allies Congress' 17 and RJD and CPIM's one MLA each voted in favor of the government.

Ahead of the floor test, the Governor of Jharkhand informed the house about the achievements of the previous government. However, a few state lawmakers raised their voices to protest against Hemant Soren and reiterate the corruption done.

In his address, Jharkhand Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan said, "Four years ago this government got a mandate to make the lives of the people happy and prosperous and bring all-round development in the state. During this period the government has tried its. best to meet the people's expectations and have a corruption-free state".

CM Champai Soren also delivered a heart-touching speech ahead of the floor test. He said the Hemant Soren government did a lot for the tribals. The former Chief Minister's development policies touched the last man of the queue. He provided food, clothes, and shelter to the poor.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha supremo Shibu Soren taught us to work and live for the poor and backward.

Champai Soren called his government as Hemant Soren government's second version. He also accused the Centre of misusing Central agencies and plotting against the Hemant Soren.
