Kiran Bedi trolled for congratulating Puducherrians on France's victory

Puducherry, July 16: A tweet from Kiran Bedi, Lieutenant Governor of the union territory, congratulating France team on their victory over Croatia in the FIFA world cup final 2018 has incurred the wrath of netizens.

Taking to Twitter, Bedi said that Puducherrians, the erstwhile French Territory won the World Cup. That was enough fodder to the tweeple to troll the former IPS officer.

Soon after her tweet, the Twitter user ridiculed her and even asked her to pull the tweet down.

"There are other ways to celebrate a French victory than to be so servile. I'm a born Pondicherrian, I don't feel I've won at all. France won, and it's a game and I love the game. I don't need the crutch of a colonial mindset to enjoy. Please do consider pulling this tweet down," said another user.

However, Kiran Bedi gave them a befitting reply on Twitter early this morning saying that Puducherry and France share a very memorable historical bond.
