Woman gangraped in MP; one arrested

Dewas (MP), Jun 18: A 25-year-old married woman was allegedly gangraped in the jungles of Barijahi Ghat, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place on Monday near the Baagli-Punjapur road in the district, where a group of unidentified men abandoned the victim after sexually abusing her, TI J R Jumnani said.

The tragedy for the woman compounded when bees attacked her even as she was trying to drag herself to reach the road, police said.

The woman has been admitted to a local hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

One of the accused has been arrested and search is on for the remaining, police added.
