Raipur: Wife alleges that scientist husband raped her

According to Majumdar's wife's statement, the accused had married her in 2011 and had kept her in the dark about his first marriage. The victim is a teacher in a school in Raipur.
She said that Mujumdar had told her that he was divorced to his earlier wife and then got married to her but later on she got to know that he had never divorced his first wife itself.
"A case has been registered against Tapas Kumar Majumdar, who is working with the food research laboratory wing of the DRDO, on the complaint lodged by this wife," Supritendent of Police OP Pal said.
"A case has been registered against Majumdar under sections 376 (rape), 419 (cheating by personation), 496 (marrying fraudulently) and 498 (A) (subjecting wife to cruelty)," Pal said and added that the probe is on and necessary action will be taken by the police.
