Chhattisgarh woman recalls horrific ordeal when she was raped, tortured almost daily
Raipur/New Delhi, July 9: In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old woman from Chhattisgarh was sold by her cousin and was gangraped almost daily for three months.
According to a report published in Daily Mail, last year, woman's cousin lured her on the pretext of touring Jashpur district, but he took her to Gumla district in Jharkhand.

There, he allegedly sold her to one Rohit and his accomplices, who raped and gangraped her almost daily.
She was also tortured with blades, shoes and belts, that inflicted several injury marks on her body.
While narrating her ordeal to Mail Today on Wednesday, July 8, the victim was quoted saying as "I have forgotten the number of times I have been raped by him and his friends."
The victim's nightmare did not end here. From Jharkhand, she was taken to a placement agency in Nihal Vihar area of Delhi. She was confined there and was raped as well as physically abused.
When the victim's parents got to know about the pain their daughter was going through, they caught hold of the cousin who had pushed her into the dirty and dark world.
However, he alerted Rohit and his friends about it, after which they threatened her with dire consequences. They warned her if she dislosed the incident to anyone, they would set ablzae her parents.
Parents sold their land and jewellery to rescue daughter
The accused took the victim to Chhattisgarh and demanded Rs 30,000 ransom to release her.
Woman's father, who is farmer, had to sell his farmland and her mother's jewellery in an attempt to save their daughter.
All this happened last year. But in 2015, the accused again abducted her from her home, to make money from her.
"They wanted me to trap wealthy people and earn money. They had made a proper plan and took me to one house where I stayed and worked as a domestic worker. Later, they forced me to allege rape charges on him, which I refused," she said.
She, somehow, managed to escape from the cluthces of those monsters and fled to her home in Chhattisgarh.
The woman has also appealed to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, Delhi Chief Minister, the National Commission for Women, the Delhi Commission for Women, and Delhi Police, but no one has approached her so far to ensure fair justice.
Presently, she has taken refuge at Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA). The NGO helped her in filing a police complaint against the accused.
