Jharkhand shocker: 4 minors raped by mob of 20

Ranchi, July 15: In a shocking incident, four minor girls were allegedly abducted and raped by a gang of more than 20 people in Pakur district.

The victims, aged 12 to 14 years, belong to the Paharia tribe.

Villagers informed the police that more than 20 people raped the minors on Sunday night at a place under Litipara Police Station, Superintendent of Police Y S Ramesh told reporters here on Monday.

The SP held a meeting with the villagers who assured help to the police in arresting the accused. The girls would be sent for medical examinations, he said.

According to police, the abductors raided a girls' hostel at Lawada village in Pakur district, 450 km from here and abducted them. The abductors were carrying armed.

A case has been registered. The accused were on the run and the police were looking for them.
