Punjab gangrape: 6 accused arrested, hunt on for 1

According to the victim, the driver and conductor of the bus in which she was travelling to her in-laws' village in Gukla on Friday night, abducted her to the frontier district, located 260 km from Chandigarh, the state capital.
She said in her complaint to the police that the duo took her in a motorcycle to an unknown location where five other men joined them.
She said the seven men raped her and dropped her off at the village the next day morning. She lodged her complaint with Kahnuwan town police station and police said her medical examination confirmed that she had been raped.
A police officer said six of the accused had been arrested, including driver Daler Singh and conductor Ravi, while raids were on to arrest the other one. All the seven had been booked for rape,it is learnt.
Gurdaspur Senior Superintendent of Police Rajjit Singh later said the accused had confessed to their crime after the arrest.
Lat month, a huge uproar occurred across the country after a 23-year-old paramedic student was brutally gangraped and assaulted in a moving bus in the national capital. She later died in a Singapore hospital after battling for life for nearly two weeks.
