New MMS circulated, mother of 2 commits suicide

Behrampur, Feb 17: 28-year-old Jesmina Bibi committed suicide over the circulation of an MMS featuring her morphed obscene images. The incident took place in Behrampur, West Bengal on Thursday, Feb 16.

According to sources, the woman, a mother of two, hanged herself after being humiliated by a group of youth and neighbour.

Husband of the deceased, Bablu Sheikh filed a complaint against a group of four youth including a woman. Bablu accused the group of harassing Jesmina and compelling her to take the gruesome decision.

"A few days ago, villagers started jeering at my wife and went about displaying her photo on the mobile phone. On seeing the picture, we realized that they had taken Jesmina's photo while she was keeping the shop. Later, they superimposed her face on a nude body and circulated it," claimed Bablu.

Meanwhile, Additional SP of Murshidabad, Annappa E stated, "We have received complaint from the victim's husband. Detailed inquiry has been started. We are trying to find the accused persons. Action will be taken against those who defamed Jesmina."
