Tejashwi Yadav Says Nitish Kumar Apologised With Folded Hands
Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has firmly dismissed any possibility of future alliances with Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United). Yadav revealed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited his residence and apologised "with folded hands" in front of his MLAs. "Hamare ghar jab aaye to haath jodkar maafi maang rahe the. He had asked for forgiveness in front of all the MLAs they were all witnesses. How many times in the House has he apologised with folded hands, saying that he had made a mistake and that he will not join the BJP now?" ANI quoted Yadav as saying.
Yadav expressed strong distrust towards Kumar, stating, "His oath has no value. No one trusts him, as he may change his mind anytime. Twice we took pity on him and gave him life and both times he showed his real form. This time there is no meaning." This statement underscores the strained relationship between the two leaders.

Nitish Kumar's Political Shifts
Nitish Kumar's political journey has been characterised by frequent changes in allegiance while holding the chief ministerial position. In 2013, he left the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after BJP chose Narendra Modi as their prime ministerial candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Two years later, in 2015, he allied with RJD and won the assembly elections, becoming chief minister with Tejashwi Yadav as his deputy.
However, this alliance was short-lived. In 2017, Kumar abandoned RJD and rejoined NDA while maintaining his role as chief minister. This pattern of shifting alliances has been a notable aspect of his political career.
On September 6, Nitish Kumar referred to his past alliances with RJD as mistakes he committed twice. "Those who were in power before me did nothing. It was a mistake on my part to have gone with them on two occasions. But I do not wish to repeat that mistake. I shall stay here (with the NDA)," PTI quoted him as saying.
The fluctuating political dynamics between these leaders highlight the complexities within Bihar's political landscape. The repeated shifts in alliances reflect deep-seated mistrust and strategic manoeuvring aimed at retaining power.
Tejashwi Yadav's recent statements further solidify this narrative of distrust and political volatility in Bihar. The ongoing tensions suggest that any reconciliation between RJD and JD(U) remains highly unlikely.
This development adds another chapter to Bihar's intricate political history, marked by alliances formed and broken over time. The future of these parties' relationships continues to be uncertain amidst these evolving dynamics.
