Shoes out of fashion, slippers thrown at Nitish Kumar in Begusarai!

Patna, Dec 23: In an embarrassing incident, a 'slipper was thrown' at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday at a public function in Begusarai district.

According to reports, Nitish was addressing a public meeting in the Garhpura village in Begusarai district after laying foundation stone and inaugurating development schemes worth Rs 344.58 crore.

When Nitish was addressing the gathering at the "Sankalp rally", someone from the crowd threw a slipper at Kumar, however, fortunately, it missed from being hit at him.

Soon, the panic followed and the person who threw the slipper could not be traced.

Earlier, also, there have been reports of slippers being thrown during Nitish Kumar's rallies.

Meanwhile, the JDU ministers have alleged that "it may be a handiwork of any political opponent."

While addressing the audience, Nitish lashed out the possible alliance between the Congress and the RJD by saying, "Who does not know that RJD and Congress shared power in those days when people feared to venture out of home after sunset to avoid getting kidnapped?"

Nitish also showered praises on the people of Bihar for their tireless efforts to sustain their families while working outside, which he said, was a constitutional right of the people of the country.

Stating that Bihar has been blessed with a glorious history, he said it was his duty to bring back the old days of glories and add new dimension to a better future.

At a time when he is facing wide criticism across the state, Nitish also urged upon the people to ensure peace, communal harmony and unity to achieve their collective effort of attaining the glorious past of the state.
