Nitish Kumar suggests Jatin Ram Majhi's name as the next Bihar CM

Patna, May 19: Minutes after outgoing Bihar CM Nitish Kumar announced that he would stick to his decision and resign from the CM post, reports confirmed that Kumar had chosen his close aide Jatin Ram Majhi as his successor.

Kumar met the Bihar Governor today and suggested Majhi's name as the next CM after he himself stepped down from the CM post following JD(U)'S miserable performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

Majhi belongs to one of the most underprivileged castes in the state. He was among the JD (U) candidates who were defeated in the polls.

Kumar today put a brave face and said that his decision to quit ‘was not an emotional one.'(Read more)
