UP Woman Brutally Killed Over Dowry: Dragged, Beaten, and Set on Fire in Viral Video

A 26-year-old woman named Nikki tragically died after she was allegedly beaten unconscious and set ablaze by her husband and in-laws in Sirsa, Greater Noida, on Thursday night.

Her husband Vipin, the prime accused, has been arrested, while police have booked four family members-Vipin, his brother Rohit, mother Daya, and father Satveer-in connection with the dowry killing.

Nikki was rushed to Fortis Hospital, Greater Noida, with severe burn injuries and later referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi for advanced treatment. However, she died on the way. Her body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.

Family's Allegations of Dowry Harassment

According to the FIR filed by Nikki's elder sister, Kanchan, the victim was subjected to continuous dowry harassment since her marriage in 2016.

Despite her family giving a branded SUV, valuables, and later another car, Nikki's in-laws allegedly demanded an additional ₹35 lakh.

"After marriage, they demanded ₹35 lakh. Even after giving them another car, the harassment never stopped," Kanchan said.

In a shocking twist, a video of Nikki's young son surfaced online, where the boy is heard saying,"Papa killed Mummy by burning her with a lighter."

The clip has gone viral, sparking widespread outrage and demands for strict action.

Victim's uncle Raj Singh revealed that multiple complaints were raised earlier, and compromises were attempted through panchayat meetings, but the abuse continued.

He also alleged that both Nikki and her sister, married into the same family, were routinely beaten by their in-laws.
