Massive Fire At Noida's Ivy County Society Guts Two Flats, Residents Evacuated Safely

At least two flats were gutted after a massive fire broke out on the 12th floor of Tower B2 at the Ivy County society in Noida's Sector 75, around 8 am on Friday. The blaze rapidly spread to an adjoining apartment, sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky and triggering panic among residents. Firefighters rushed to the spot with multiple fire tenders and brought the fire under control after several hours. No casualties or injuries were reported.

According to officials, the fire originated in Flat No. 1206 on the 12th floor of the 28-storey tower. Within minutes, flames engulfed the apartment and spread to a neighbouring flat, prompting residents to evacuate the building using staircases.

Police and fire department personnel immediately launched evacuation efforts and cleared the building as a precautionary measure. Residents of nearby flats were also moved to safer locations while firefighting operations were underway.

Three to four fire tenders were pressed into service to contain the blaze. Firefighters battled the flames for several hours before bringing the situation under control. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined and will be ascertained after a detailed investigation.

Access to the residential complex was restricted during the operation. Security personnel and residents were unwilling to share details with the media, while authorities focused on rescue and firefighting efforts.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident and directed officials to immediately reach the spot and oversee relief and rescue operations. In a statement, the Chief Minister instructed authorities to ensure that all possible assistance is provided to affected residents and that there is no lapse in relief efforts.

He also directed officials to make adequate medical arrangements and ensure prompt treatment if any injuries were reported.

The Ivy County fire was one of two separate fire incidents reported in Noida on Friday morning.

In yet another incident, a blaze broke out at a paying guest (PG) accommodation in E-3, Shatabdi Vihar, Sector 52. The building houses a restaurant on the ground floor and a PG facility on the upper floors. Two fire tenders were dispatched to the location after the incident was reported. No casualties were reported there either.

Authorities are investigating the causes of both fires.

The incidents come amid a seven-day fire safety inspection and awareness campaign being conducted by the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police and Fire Department across hotels and other establishments. The campaign aims to improve compliance with fire safety norms and strengthen preparedness against emergencies.

Officials have directed building owners and managers to ensure that firefighting equipment remains operational, emergency exits remain unobstructed and safety protocols are strictly followed.

Earlier, a fire at a hotel in Delhi's Malviya Nagar claimed 21 lives, prompting authorities across the NCR to intensify safety inspections and enforcement measures.
